Gon, for example, IMO is a deconstruction of the typical shonen hero - he's young, happy-go-lucky, naive, head strong and all.

This manga easily has some of the best character development i've seen in a shonen. From power sets to locations, the manga does a pretty good job of setting up the world and expanding on it.Ĩ/10.There are some really great characters in this manga but generally the main cast follows typical shonen tropes until.ĩ/10.they start developing. I would say you should give it a watch.Ĩ/10.they're great, and definitely a lot more creative than typical shonen fights, but some of the fights end too quickly and you never really get stand out fights on the level of the best of DBZ/Naturo/Bleach etc.ħ/10.There's nothing particularly new or special about the overall story but the specific arcs are pretty creativeĩ/10.It's not as adventurous or broad as One Piece, but the universe these characters live in is very detailed.
#Hxh manga artist got deadlie series#
World building got such a low score because although the world is vast, it doesn't really go into interesting details about it like in a series such as One Piece. The story got a 7 because of the disjointedness, but arcs vary individually, with one being a 10/10. It doesn't focus a lot on fights, but those that are included are good.

It is pretty easy to go through and the ending is still good even though the manga is ongoing. The are many great characters both good guys and bad guys, some of the conflicts are very interesting and there's a really emotional moment in latter arcs. Either way, it is worth watching for the good stuff which overshadows the bad. Specific arcs like Yorknew are absolutely fantastic, but there are other arcs that are not so great, so it is inconsistent in that sense. The main character Gon is pretty interesting to watch, but it's the other main characters (Killua and Kurapika) that steal the show. Manga Art: I don't read the manga, but it is pretty bad because Togashi is inconsistent.

Character Development: 9 (depends on the arc)
